September 2024 Hair Styling Product Recommendations

In the pursuit of achieving healthy, vibrant and shiny hair, selecting the correct hair care products can truly make all the difference. A high-quality shampoo lays the essential foundation by gently cleansing the hair without stripping away vital moisture, thereby setting a positive stage for overall scalp and hair health and vitality. Using a nourishing detangling mist helps you easily manage knots and tangles, making your hair smooth and simple to style for easy everyday care. To further enhance your hair routine and add body and volume, a volumizing mousse elevates your experience, providing much-needed lift and fullness while also being able to maintain a natural look. Together, these products can create a simple routine to your hair care that not only enhances personal unique style but also keeps your strands looking their absolute best at all times.

For the month of September I focused on these three products because they were usable and effective for everyone that sat in my chair. These are high quality products and their price tag goes along with that, but are highly effective and concentrated, they’ll last for months before needing to be resupplied or trying out something new!

Oribe - Signature Shampoo - 8.5oz - $49 and Oribe - Signature Conditioner - 6.8oz - $52

Since moving to Meraki Hair Lounge in July I’ve been using the Oribe Signature shampoo and conditioner on almost all of my clients. I’ve been loving the consistency, spreadability and the lather the shampoo produces. Of course I do recommend a double shampoo, for many reasons, but you can use a nickel to quarter size for both cleansings (for really dirty hair you may need a tad more or a third wash). The conditioner also spreads amazingly, almost like butter, just using about a nickel to quarter size to start.

R+Co Bleu F-Layer Detangling Mist - 6.8oz - $42

This detangling mist just released a week before I’m writing this and I’ve been loving it ever since I got my hands on it. It’s lightweight so I don’t have to worry about spraying too much on fine hair, while also still aiding in calming frizz on coarse hair. It has heat protection helping to protect from heat damage reaching to 450°F and UV protection to help protect from the harsh sun. You can even use it on dry hair to restyle second/third day hair that needs just a little polishing and moisture. I would recommend spritzing a pump or two in your hair and spreading it through your mid-lengths + ends to calm frizz and bring back your style.

All of R+Co Bleu products contain the ‘BLEU Molecule Complex’ which is designed to give strength and shine through micro-encapsulated sugars molecules gradually delivering the active ingredients which treat the hair leaving it in better condition than before.

R+Co Bleu Highest Volumizing Mousse - 6.3oz - $42

I’ve been using Chiffon and Rodeo Star from R+Co for years but only recently have gotten to use the luxury line from the brand and the Highest Volumizing Mousse has been superior to any other mousse I’ve ever used in my 9 years behind the chair. It’s very concentrated so you do not need to pump out a giant foam bubble like I’m used to. Initially it spreads on your hands really white (similar to the K18 when emulsified) but when worked into the hair it doesn’t leave any trace behind. This mousse is somehow lightweight while not being sticky, it plumps the hair strands without leaving a residue behind, allowing for those that like to run their fingers through their hair to be able to do so effortlessly while retaining volume.

This product also has the ‘BLEU Molecule Complex’ and will be treating the hair with each use.
