Bright & Creamy Blonde Highlights

If you know me you know I love a good olé “traditional” highlight. What’s traditional about it you might ask? These are the kind of highlights that go right up to the root growing out from your scalp, typically needing to be retouched within 6-8 weeks, that were very common before balayage became the new trend and modern practice.

Not everyone is bothered by their regrowth though and there are other options to help eliminate such a harsh regrowth. One thing I like to do with this client is what we call a “Base Break” where a color is applied with the intention of shifting the natural hair color about 1 level/shade. You end up with a two-in-one situation sometimes where the color applied will shift the natural hair but also tone any newly placed highlights.

In this color process I used Schwarzkopf Blonde Me premium bleach to apply for all the highlights, rinsing the back and sides as needed while waiting for the top to finish processing.

For our toner I choose to use the new Schwarzkopf Zero Amm hair color in the shade 10:19. My client was open to a different tone in their hair and so I was okay if the violet were to take a little extra strong. Mixing in the Hair Sealer also from Schwarzkopf to dilute this technically “High-Lift” color.

60g 10-19 + 60g Hair Sealer + 60g 20vol
